The United Arab Emirates loves cycling and you can find dedicated cycling routes all over the country, so it's only right that I showcase my top three cycle routes to do in the UAE on this 'Go for a Ride Day'.
From exhilarating mountain track routes, to whizzing your way around a Formula One circuit, the cycling options in the United Arab Emirates are second to none.
What is 'Go for a Ride Day'?
It is not strictly only to do with cycling. It is infact a celebration of the transportation industry and the day has existed since the early 20th century occurring on November 22nd annually.
'Go for a Ride Day' is a day to encourage people to switch off from the day to day madness of the world and go for a ride, whether that be in a car, on a snowmobile... or any other form of transportation you can think of.
As The Sports Explorer is all about exploring the world though sport & adventure, I've chosen cycling as our mode of transportation, which is good news because of the UAE's abundance of cycling options.
So without further ado, here are my three favourite cycling adventures to do in the United Arab Emirates...

Based at Hatta Wadi Hub, an adventure playground in this UAE mountain town, you are able to explore over 52km of mountain bike trails, each with their own degrees of difficulty.
From easy routes to expert tracks, there is something for everyone and it is an exhilarating way to explore the UAE's Hajar Mountains.
You can rent bikes at Wadi Hub, but if you have your own suitable bike, you are free to head straight out into the mountains.
2. Cycle around Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit at TrainYAS
There aren't many iconic sporting venues around the world that allow the public to use its facilities away from the professional sporting occasions taking place.
Not so at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit though! At this famous Formula One circuit, which often hosts the season finale of the F1 season, the track becomes a cycling, running and walking paradise for fitness lovers every Sunday & Tuesday.
Whilst on your bike you will have two hours to cycle around the famous tarmac, passing down the start/finish straight, under the famous W Hotel that bridges the track and pick up some speed on one of F1's longest straights.
*The circuit is currently closed until December 20th as Yas Marina Circuit prepares to the host the 2020 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
3. Cycle the Nad Al Sheba Cycle Loop in Dubai
Based minutes away from the Downtown area of Dubai, the Nad Al Sheba Cycle Loop is a stunning location for a morning or evening cycle.
The cycle loop is a converted camel racing tack and is now free to use for cyclists every day of the week, it is also floodlit meaning a late evening or pre-sunrise visit is doable.
The views of Burj Khalifa, Meydan and the Downtown skyline of Dubai are enough to keep you inspired as you pedal around the 8km loop.
So there we go, three brilliant cycle routes to do in the UAE. Time to get inspired, head out on two wheels and explore the country across different terrains, iconic sporting venues and former camel racing tracks!
Enjoy.
